Christine Butler has worked at West Rock Pediatrics since 1988. One of her biggest pleasures has been following patients from infancy through adolescence, getting to know them and their families personally. She finds it a joy to work with children and hopes to make a difference in their lives through optimized medical care, guidance and good communication. She is now often seeing second generation children of her former patients.
Born in Belgium, she earned her MD at the University of Brussels and then completed her pediatric residency at Bridgeport Hospital and Neonatal fellowship at Yale New Haven hospital. She is Board certified in both Pediatrics and Neonatology. In addition to working at West Rock she attends at the Yale New Haven Neonatal Bridgeport campus caring for very premature infants with multiple medical problems. She developed the first neonatal follow-up program in Fairfield county to assess outcomes and direct further care for the neonatal unit “graduates.” She has the responsibility of teaching Yale Resident MDs and medical students.
She is fluent in French, is a long-time New Haven resident, married, has raised three children, is a gourmet cook and enjoys reading, exercising and traveling.
